Quick Facts about #ECR

Real Name: Paul
Nicknames: PSco or #ECR
Hometown: Colonial Heights, VA

Biggest Sport Rivals: Cowboys, Red Sox, Duke Blue Devils, FSU football, LeBron James

The athlete you're supposed to hate because he/she plays for a rival, but you secretly love: I liked David Ortiz (Red Sox), but I'm going to have to go with Byron Jones (Dallas Cowboys)

The one sport I can't live without: College Basketball!!  Die hard UNC fan and die hard Duke hater!!  I'm going to go with 2 though, I'm taking the NFL as well!!  I get up in the morning and one of the first things I do is look at the UNC athletic website and then straight to nfl.com, then on to espn for me to start my day off right.

Favorite Sports Movie: I'm going with 2 here as well!  I'm taking Coach Carter and Remember the Titans.  Even though there's many great one out there, and I couldsit down and discuss sports movies with you forever, I'm going with those 2.  Coach Carter has one of my all-time favorite quotes in it:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are                     powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

The one sport I wouldn't notice if it disappeared: Either Golf of Tennis.  I can't get into even reading articles about either sport.

Best Year in My Sports Life: Oh man, this is a tough one right here!!  I'm actually going with 2017 thus far though.  The "Redemption Team" out of UNC made a spectacular run when nobody expected them to go that deep, with the losses of Marcus Paige and Bryce Johnson.

Favorite athlete from my hometown (Colonial Heights, VA): I actually had to look this up, but the only name listed was one that I already knew, Whitney Hedgepeth (Swimming - 3 time NCAA Champion and 1996 Silver/Gold Olympic medalist).  I know Arthur Ashe is from Richmond, about 20 minutes North of here, but so is several others such as Russell Wilson, Darren Sharper, James Farrior and Fran Tarkenton.  However, two basketball players jump to mind, one current and one old-school, Moses Malone and Frank Mason II.  They both came out of Petersburg, VA which is right across the river.  I've met Frank Mason II a few times, and even played ball with him ... let's just say, I wasn't ready for him!!
